“AGENCIES SEEK PUBLIC INPUT ON UNMET TRANSIT NEEDS”
MONTEREY COUNTY – The Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC), in partnership with the Monterey-Salinas Transit District (MST), is seeking public input on unmet transit needs.
The unmet transit needs process is required by the state’s Transportation Development Act under the Local Transportation Fund, which allocates a quarter cent of the general sales tax that is collected statewide and comes back to the County on a population basis to support public transit services.
The agencies are asking community members to help define transit needs that the public transportation system is not currently meeting. Comments can be submitted by any of the following means through April 30, 2023:
· At public hearings on February 22 and March 29, 2023
· By mail, ATTN: Aaron Hernandez, 55 B Plaza Circle, Salinas, CA 93901
· Via email (aaron@tamcmonterey.org)
· By phone (831) 775-4412
· Through the online form at this link on the TAMC website: https://www.tamcmonterey.org/unmet-transit-needs
The TAMC Board of Directors will host a public hearing on February 22 at 9:00A.M. and the MST Mobility Advisory Committee will host a public hearing on March 29 at 1:00P.M. Information on how to attend the hearings can be found in the following links:
