TAMC Announces the First Winner of the “Go831 Smart Commute to the Moon Challenge” Random Drawing

MONTEREY COUNTY – The Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC), in partnership with Blue Zones Project Monterey County, and the City of Salinas announced that Jenny Cogswell of Monterey is the winner of the first $50 random drawing of the “Go831 Smart Commute to the Moon Challenge” for logging her October telework trips.

Ms. Cogswell is one of several participants competing to win over $5,000 in weekly, individual, team and employer prizes during the October challenge.  Each participant who completes and tracks at least two alternative commute trips during the month will be automatically entered into a weekly random drawing to win a $50 gift card. Winners of the overall challenge categories will be announced in November.

It’s not too late to enter the competition! Any adult who lives or works in Monterey County can register anytime during the month of October and log smart commute trips already taken earlier in the month.  To get credit for trips taken between October 1 – October 31 follow these three easy steps:

  1. Participants must first register online at go831.rideamigos.com using their work or student email address or link distributed by their employer or college.
  2. Next, they can search for smart commute options on the go831.rideamigos.com platform.
  3. To get credit for their smart commute trips, participants must track them on the go831.rideamigos.com platform or download and use the free CommuteTrack app by Rideamigos.

Participants of the Smart Commute Challenge are encouraged to sign the Blue Zones Pledge and download the Salinas Connect App to be eligible to win additional prizes offered by Blue Zones Project Monterey County and the City of Salinas.
