Although the Imjin Parkway Improvements is the first regional "roadway" project," it is the second regional Measure X project, with the  MST Bus Maintenance Facility project being the first to be built. After winning a $19 million state multimodal gas tax grant, the Imjin Parkway project to improve travel connections between Salinas, Marina, Cal State University Monterey Bay and the Peninsula is now fully funded.

This project will widen the two-lane section at Imjin Parkway to four lanes and add roundabouts at the intersections.  Preparation for construction began with tree removal work and fencing in February 2024.
